&&. BACK TO MAIN.
At the start, Withering Tales was another one of those run-of-the-mill role-plays that had the few very loyal members, but never went anywhere with its unprofessional skin and graphics. It all began when Grave Digger and myself joined a fantastic wild horse role-play. The staff there had taken a site that had been like WT at one point, and turned it into something amazing. Grave and I were determined to one day have our own site much like that and Wild Equines. Thus, we created the original Withering Tales.
Upon creating Withering Tales and the boards, it was nothing like today’s version. Though, it sparked activity quickly. Really, I was amazed, but Grave thought it was just like it was going to be. Months past, and I was promoted on the original horse role-play we were a part of to admin, therefore I dedicated my time from WT to it. Neglecting WT for a large amount of time, I eventually decided to close it after Grave came back over to the other site with myself because I missed role-playing with her. So, WT was destroyed. For months we forgot we even had it, and it was nothing was an unread file in the back of our minds. Then, a turn of events sharply rose it from the ashens.
Around two months before a major change in our life, one of the past members from WT contacted me. She said how she had loved the site and its great potential, and it saddened her to see that great of a site go to waste and die. She wanted me to make a new one. I told her that I was tied up with another one of my sites, and that I would talk to Grave Digger about it. We talked, and we both came up with amazing ideas for it, however, never got to making it. Soon afterwards, turns of events in the site we were part of changed our minds. Views were changed and trust and friendships were beginning to become tense, and I was a loyal person, and wasn’t going to abandon my best friend so that I could keep a position on a site. Grave Digger was that best friend, and together we quit a site we had been a part of for almost three years.
I will not forget my friendship there with the fellow admin, ever, and I do forgive her for all the things she didn't notice that did hurt me, and I can only hope she finds it in herself to forgive me. But, you came here to learn of WT, not me.
Afterwards, WT seemed more of a new start than ever, but we found ourselves again caught up with another site, Grave Digger’s Ambia. It wasn’t long that the tensions we felt at the old site returned, and with it, the random deletion of Ambia. Grave Digger knew instantly who was at blame. Ambia had been her baby, and she was enraged. Attempting to calm her, I finally created “Withering Tales 2” in one night of coding and Photoshop. Advertising it, Grave Digger was quickly calmed, and we began working on our horse roleplay once more, where we knew we would get somewhere, someday. Yet, it wasn’t long after I got a cbox for WT2 that members from the other site found us, and began to harass us and our innocent members. One was able to access the admin account on WT, and sabotage it from the inside out. Devastated, I went to Grave Digger and said I was leaving for awhile, that I couldn’t take the drama, and took away the cbox. But, Grave Digger wasn’t so easy to make heavy-hearted, headstrong and determined, she stuck with WT2. Everyday should would call and tell me how it was doing, and begged me to come back, saying the members and characters missed me. It had been awhile, and I believed that the drama had thawed and the anger had diminished, so I returned.
Throwing a welcoming party was Grave Digger and the members on a new cbox. I was astounded there had been no reports of any harassing, so I officially returned to the role-play world and started WT2 up once more. Weeks passed, and everything was running smoothly, until a day everything changed. Loyal members to the elder site returned and started drama once more. Finally, I had had enough, and I approached Grave Digger with the offer to move WT2. She agreed.
Searching through the many forum support engines, I finally came across Invisionfree. The advancement over Proboards was astounding, and I told Grave Digger about it and she was ecstatic about getting WT back up and running. It has only been a few short months, and the new WT has astonished us and many. We hope that the story has enlightened you, or at least as got to you in some way. WT has fought the odds for many many years while in development, and now, we share its story. One that has happened, and is on going, welcoming all you wish to be a part of its history.
